Steve Higgins and the Javi Pérez Special

Steve was an

american builder

working in the USA,

but a part from being the builder

he was a free

spirit inside.

This allowed him to face

the change,

so then he mastered the art

of making the nice guitars.

He did so in Barcelona,

a little workshop in La Sagrera.

Thatʼs where I found him

when was searching

for me amp's repairing.

Instead I found a

man that I would see

every single week,

who would teach me

how to make my very

own guitar indeed.

And thatʼs only

the material part of it.

The simple way

of life he had, earning a

humble living through

sharing his valuable

art, always full

of humour, paternal

and motivating,

was definitely

something that

would inspire me

over the years. First

his dog, Thor, passed

away. He followed

not long later, after

smartly accepting

that his health was

getting worse and

declining the doctors

offers to keep him

alive for many years.

That was his last

lesson. Learn to die!

Music to fall in love to, music to relax, music to liberate your soul and music to explode. Music to yell, music to dance, to laugh and music to cry. Music as a social tool, music as an experiment, music to say whatever, music to educate, music to entertain, music to unite. Music to remember, music to dream, music to get laid and music to get high. Music to be alone, music to share, loud music and quiet music, old music and new music. Genious music and simple music, endless music and short music. Music made for the music and music made for the money. Fast music and slow music, easy music, impossible music, angry music, peaceful music, honest music and superficial music. Electronic music and acoustic music, improvised music and composed music. Music to find yourself and music to lose yourself. Music that comes from one country and music that comes from another.

Music from the earth and music from the universe.
